Salt AI, a contextual AI platform for life sciences, announced a $10 million funding round, led by Morpheus Ventures, with participation from Struck Capital, Marbruck Investments and CoreWeave.

WHAT IT DOES

Salt AI offers a platform aimed at allowing research and healthcare teams to integrate, visualize and deploy AI models.

At the core of the company's platform is the Salt Matrix, a catalog of data connectors, models and tools to help teams build AI workflows with drag-and-drop tools.

The company will utilize the funds to expand its customer base among biopharma and healthcare companies, invest in AI innovation and grow its AI engineering teams.

"No single AI model can unlock the future of medicine alone," Aber Whitcomb, CEO and cofounder of Salt AI, said in a statement.

"The future belongs to ensembles, models working in synergy. At Salt AI, our platform is designed so organizations can rapidly create, launch and scale AI solutions that drive healthcare innovation forward."

MARKET SNAPSHOT

In March, Salt AI announced a formal research partnership with the Ellison Medical Institute, led by cancer researcher Dr. David Agus.

The joint team is pursuing "ambitious" milestones in cancer research and novel therapeutic development.

According to the company, the partnership marked Salt AI's formal entry into the life sciences sector.

Last year, Salt AI raised $3 million in seed funding and appointed technology veteran Aber Whitcomb as CEO.

Whitcomb is the former cofounder and CTO of MySpace and Jam City.

Other companies in the workflow management space include Penguin Ai, which earlier this month secured $29.7 million in venture funding, including $25 million in a Series A round led by Greycroft.

The company used the funds to expand its workforce, accelerate product development and scale its services with payers and providers.
